These terms and conditions apply to all our requests and bookings, unless otherwise specifically agreed with us in writing.
A minimum 25% non-refundable deposit payment is required at the time of booking. In cases where an unusually large portion of the trip includes supplier bookings with less flexible cancellation terms, we will ask for a higher deposit.
The remaining balance amount is payable at least 30 days before the trip start date.
In the event of a customer trip cancellation (for any reason), we charge cancellation fees as per the following logic:
- 30 days or more before the trip: Equal to the deposit
- 29 days or less before the trip: Equal to the deposit plus a proportionate charge for any additional cancellation fees applied by our suppliers
Partial trip cancellations incur partial cancellation fees as per the same logic.
With the above flexible refund structure, where the final cancellation cost depends largely on our suppliers, we are almost always able to minimise cancellation costs as compared to more fixed and predictable refund schedules. Therefore please be patient while we process your cancellation before confirming the final fee or refund applicable.
You are always entitled to a full refund for any part of your trip which is cancelled by Iceland Offbeat or our third party suppliers, irrespective of the reason. We are however not under any circumstances liable to additional compensation beyond the paid price for the cancelled services.
Please note that the cancellation fees may vary for certain customised trips. In such cases, your specialist will specify the cancellation fees prior to booking.
In the event of a customer trip postponement (for any reason), where the old trip is cancelled but re-scheduled to a new trip on future dates, we charge a 10% standard postponement fee plus:
- A proportionate charge for any cancellation fees applied by our suppliers on the old trip
If the new trip turns out more expensive:
- We charge the price difference
If the new trip turns out less expensive:
- We apply partial cancellation fees and then refund the remaining price difference
With the above flexible postponement structure, we offer our customers a relatively affordable postponement option (more attractive than cancelling) while at the same time retaining complete consistency with full and partial cancellation.
Our prices are always quoted as packages, with one total amount for the trip. Our package prices are carefully calculated based on confidential supplier prices, other input costs, exchange rates and assumptions made at the time of publishing the itinerary.
Although we strive to honour all our price quotes, sometimes clear mistakes or changes of assumption require us to re-calculate prices for non-confirmed trips.
Sold trip prices are considered fixed and final. Customers who have already paid at least a deposit towards their trip can consider their prices locked in, except in the event that a very clear pricing mistake has been made in which case we reserve the right to adjust a sold trip's price up or down.

In such case Iceland Offbeat reserves the right to substitute different or equivalent routes within the holiday in place of cancelled or modified routes, or postpone, cancel or delay (either in relation to the departure or arrival times or the duration of the holiday) any such aspect of the holiday and may, at its option, by written notice to you either cancel the activity or take any other action as specified in condition 6.
In the event of any change, modification, cancellation, postponement or delay under this condition, you acknowledge that you will have no right of refund of the holiday price (whether in whole or in part) and no right to claim compensation for any injury, loss or damage or other additional expenses incurred by virtue of the change, modification, cancellation postponement or delay.
If any such change, modification, cancellation, postponement or delay under this condition whether before or during the holiday, necessitates additional costs (including accommodation, flights or ground transportation) to be charged, you agree that you will pay these additional costs as reasonably required by Iceland Offbeat.

If, despite the release and waiver given under this condition, Iceland Offbeat is found to be liable for damages to you, you agree that the maximum amount of such damages will be limited to the price paid for the holiday (provided that any losses relating to death or personal injury arising from the negligent acts of Iceland Offbeat, its employees, agents and suppliers will not be limited). This contract (including all matters arising from it) is exclusively subject to Icelandic law.
